Hunters, fishers, and birdwatchers will find loads of entertainment on this large tract of land Southwest of town. I don’t know enough about the hunting and fishing, but I can say that this is the place to be for watching the sandhill Crane migration in October and November. You may have watched giant animal migrations on nature shows that take place in Africa or other exotic locations that are a world away. You probably had no idea that there is a world class migration that happens every year just and hour from you home. If you time it right (you might want to call the park to do this) you can watch an amazing display of over 10,000 birds congregating and making an awesome whooping noise. This is something I recommend everybody in the area see at least once.
For periodic updates on crane numbers, check out the Department of Natural Resources (http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/3109.htm)
